On December 3rd 1999 Hal was driving home when his car was hit head on by a drunk driver at over 70 miles per hour, and propelled into oncoming traffic, where another vehicle crashed into his driver’s side door.
Hal broke 11 bones, suffered permanent brain damage, and began losing blood. One hour later, he was finally removed from the wreckage and was found dead at the scene. Hal had stopped breathing, and his heart stopped beating for 6 minutes.
Six days later, he woke up from a coma to face an unimaginable reality - doctors told him he would likely never walk again. Harnessing the power of faith (in God, in himself and in the mind’s ability to heal the body) Hal took his first step just 3 weeks after he was found dead.
